I’m a fiancée now!

Saturday

We woke up Saturday bright and early. I couldn’t sleep from all the excitement! So I came down and started out with coffee and Hammer pitched in and we made this beautiful engagement breakfast!

Gluten free blueberry pancakes, fried eggs, and oven-baked bacon. We don’t mess around with breakfast in this house.

First order of business yesterday was to get my gorgeous ring resized. It was a bit big and I’m lucky as hell that my sister works at The Gem Lab here in town and they’ve taken great care of us throughout the whole process. I had my ring done in no time! While we waited though Kate and I took the opportunity to check out the mall nearby!

Back home, it was snowing still! Oh yeah, hello Rochester winter! So glad we’re leaving for Spain this week. 8-12 inches of snow?! Really! The snow meant my long bike ride had to be inside on the trainer. Boo! I managed to ride for 2.5 hours. I wanted to go longer, but my knees were aching yesterday really bad so I wanted to be smart about it too.

We started Week 2 of our pull-up challenge, too.

Week 2 – Day 1: 5 sets total – 2 minutes rest between each set

  • set 1: 3 pull-ups
  • set 2: 2
  • set 3: 3
  • set 4: 2
  • set 5: 3
Just because I’m a fiancée now doesn’t mean I can’t ride my bike for hours and do pull-ups. I’ll always be a badass! ;)

Oh and Marley got her haircut yesterday. How gorgeous is she? They groomer’s love her and just can’t get enough of her. Hammer and I are so proud we have such a good girl!

And to continue our celebration last night (plus for Valentine’s Day!) we went back to the scene of the crime for drinks. We went to Dragonfly – where Hammer and I had our first “date”. I mean we knew each other for 3 months by that point, but this was big, I actually wanted to go out to dinner with him! ;) That night was so fun. Ironically, we  talked about drunken stories that night which moved to stories about weddings. Wedding talk on the first date?! And he amazingly still wanted to date me! Ha!

Kate and Steve met us there last night and we went uber-classy with the ever-delicious: Genny Bock Beer and nachos!

That’s how we roll and I’m a-ok with it!

Don’t be alarmed, it’s just sisters geeking-out about rings and weddings. I can’t wait to share my journey of wedding planning with Kate (and Nik!! we missed you – but that’s ok – you’ve got other important things going on like oh, say, brewing up a baby girl due any day now!)

And next we went out for a fancy dinner, just the two of us at 2vine. Oh I love this restaurant – if only it was in our budget to go there more often!

The food is incredible. I had the pork chop and Bry went with the salmon. Both amazing choices – you can’t go wrong.

And to cap off my fairy-tale weekend I had one more glass of champagne! Might as well soak it all in now!

Hope this snowy Sunday is treating you well. I’ve continued my badass-ness and went out for 5 miles this morning. That was a blast! Now we have some chores to do!
